[Sheflug] Now a new silly problem!
Hi,
Why is it that all the little problems I get seem to be just beyond my
ability to correct them?? This morning, for some reason I can't understand,
my Mandrake 7 box has developed a problem with the KDE desktop. When I log
in as a normal user, everything is fine and the computer behaves as I would
expect but, when I try to log in as Root, the KDE desktop fails to display
any program icons and will not activate any programs. I don't get any error
messages on boot up - it just don't work ;o(
The last thing I did as Root was to ask DrakeConf to look for the ISA modem
in the box (which it failed to find) but it still seemed to be working OK
after that, now I want to install a package and can't get kpackage to run as
it needs to be root. Can anyone offer any suggestions please?
