[Sheflug] Now a new silly problem!

Did you reboot? If you didn't reboot, then you have no idea whether
it's "still working" or not. The settings are changed on disk, but
many settings do not get picked up for one reason or another until
reboot.
(To be precise, they can be forced by logging out, restarting all your
daemons and such but rebooting is the most convenient way to ensure
all the dependent system configs are reloaded. The only things I
haven't found a reliable way to "hot swap" are the kernel itself ;-)
and disk partition tables---and I think the latter only applies to the
disk with the root partition, which I haven't the nerve to unmount ;-).)
Sorry I can't help with the problem itself.
