Okay, maybe I was a little unfair, I was talking more in the general
sense. However, I don't agree libtool is a bitch!! Compiling a .so JPEG is
Well Easy(tm) [1], just do a './configure --enable-shared'. Then 'make'.
That ain't hard, is it? JPEG building is easier than it was, though,
agreed.

[1] - of course, you need libtool installed inthe first place for this to
work. It's on my system, but then I develop, so it may not be on
everyone's system. Open offer: I'll send anyone a libjpeg.so.62.0.0 who
wants one, compiled by my very hands. It's about 150k, so it's pretty
mailable I reckon. I'm running egcs, tho, if that makes any difference to
anyone out there. I think I'm targeted for i486, although that shouldn't
be a problem for anyone here ;))
