I don't dispute there are behind the scenes improvements/changes, but a
jump from 6.7 to 7 implies something major (to a simple minded fool like
me anyhow), and since 2.4 & kde 2 are around the corner maybe 6.5 would
have been a better designation - if it wasn't for the version number arms
race anyhow. Ruediger Berlich was a little circumspect about the
appearance of a 6.5, but if memory serves me right I'm sure he mentioned
October/November for the next major release.
If Ruediger is listening in, perhaps his inside line would shed some light
