Unless you get a set of patches specifically for the Mandrake kernel it is
inadvisable to patch it. Most vendors tamper with kernels a little.
Get a vanilla kernel to patch, or get 2.4.0-test7. (It's pretty stable,
I'm running it now, just be sure to read Documentation/Changes)
