[Sheflug] KDE2 and Qt 2.2
Dear All
Didn't have much to do tonight so I decided to find out why KDE 1.94
wouldn't work too well on my desktop.
Turns out that I needed Qt 2.2 to make it work properly. So, I
downloaded it from www.kde.org and started to compile it. Three hours
later it had finished. That's on a 450Mhz PC with 128Mb of RAM. Not
the slowest machine that you can find.
After starting KDE 1.94 I found that the whole thing is very stable.
Nothing like the horror stories that I've been getting from all over
the place. Unfortunately it wouldn't let me use KDE 1 so that meant I
had to put Qt 2.0 back in again from the qt.old directory that I'd
'mv'd' it to.
Look forward to being able to use the finished thing :) Looks good
with Windowmaker running at the same time.
Thanks
