Re: [Sheflug] BT second line



Well, the nice man at BT in Manchester actually bothered to phone back
(wooooh!) with the news that only new customers get real lines. People who
want two lines get a line splitter and thats it. He turned the gain up for
a maximum (theoretical) of 33.6K, but basically said 'You're a good
customer, as you have two lines. Therefore you get the inferior equipment,
so nuuur (as per playground taunting)'

He kindly offered to send a leaflet all about the 'cost effective' use of
ISDN or DSL ( as opposed to 10 quid a month for unmetered access, courtesy
of Freeserve ;-) Seems that the more you support them, the more back you
show for them to stab :-(
