 Yup, they are just text editors, and there are a few of us that use both (or 
at
least are trying to :-)

 You should probably read the networking howtos, and try and get a feel for 
the
steps involved with the configuration of the network.

 If that doesn't help, post (in plain text :-) a more detailed description of
the problems you're having, and we can help you out.

 Try checking how any dial on demand options are setup with WVDial, that might
be the problem (guessing).
