Having been recently occupied extending XEmacs to handle Winblows
charsets, I'm actually impressed at MSFT's efforts in this
department.

Their value all turns on the question of whether efficiency in each
language is worth the sacrifice of generality and portability, but
they are pretty well laid out and contain sensible character sets for
(American, at least) business, which you cannot say for the ISO sets.

Not worth the loss of generality, IMO, but when you're Microsoft, you
can make those choices.

If you don't like the MSFT stuff, find out how to recognize it and
flame correspondents and webmasters unmercifully for using it ;-)
