600 to 700MHz may be the average for a *new* PC but != to the speed of the 
average PC in use today.

Speaking as someone who uses Windoze every day but would like to use Linux 
more, I thought half the raison d'être for Linux was to enable obsolescent 
machines have a new lease of life.
