Try using standard mount, with smbfs, like this:

mount -tsmbfs //snot/mp3 /mnt/mp3 -o username=<username>
password=<password>

The password is optional, and will be prompted for. The username if
ignored assumes your login name.

AFAIK, this is the current 'official' way to do it, and the smbmount
command is just a wrapper to the same thing, but I have had trouble with
smbmount before, and fixed it this way.
