Erm, nope...doesn't *just* work
I'm trying to do this one drive at a time.
I have two large drives - one (hda) with /boot, / and /home plus some
swap, and the other (hdb) contains /usr and more swap.
I've connected hdb to IDE1 on the new controller as hde
I can get the Promise controller to recognise the drive (not very
hard), and during boot Linux picks up on ide0-ide3 channels as expected,
but when it comes to the partition check, hda goes fine and hde pauses,
then comes back with "lost interupt".
It repeats this a few times, then continues to boot, which falls over
when the system attempts to mount swap (should be hde5 - I altered fstab
to reflect this, the same was done for the /usr partition).
I'm then dumped to a maintainance prompt...
I'm very, very glad that I asked about Vi not to long ago. Getting
Emacs when you have no /usr partition is kinda hard ;-)
