I'll say it again - if it smells funny, bin it. How long do you expect a 
seriously-stressed PSU to survive after administering the kiss of life? Play 
safe, pop a new one in - buy a new case for £20 and forget the hassle.

I used to get asked to repair these things - it's surprising how many people 
would call again the next week saying it went pop again.
