[Sheflug] Help with /etc/modules.conf

I'm trying to get a SCSI card to be recognized at boot up. It's NCR5380 
based and I have the following lines in /etc/modules.conf but it doesn't 
get recognized unless I "modprobe" it at the command line. What am I doing 
wrong? (Box is SuSE 7.0)

alias scsi_hostadapter  g_NCR5380
options g_NCR5380 ncr_irq=7 ncr_addr=0x220 ncr_5380=1
