Re: [Sheflug] Sheffield advice
Hi
I am Russian myself and I've got a Russian friend - Java programmer, who
recently had to change employment here, so, he sent his resume to a few
agencies, got a few interviews and got a job finally - I would say it
wasn't too difficult, although he did have a couple of unpleasant moments.
(e.g. Xerox in Cambridge agreed to hire him, SIGNED the contract, launched
the paperwork for a work-permit... but then they changed their mind - so
he lost about a month...) But I would've thought, for an American it
should be easier than for a Russian:-) You just apply, you say you are a
foreigner and you will need a work-permit, and if a company is prepared to
into the burden for you - they will. It's not too difficult these days,
but still smaller companies are trying to avoid this sort of 'problems'...
Good luck
