If your fiancee is going to be a full-time student (as is my wife), it
would be much easier, since dependants of full-time students by

As you don't need a work permit, employers can treat you like any
other applicants so you don't create additional burden. So you're on
a level playing field with other applicants.

Java is pretty employable, you should have no problems.

Leeds is probably the better bet, because of a frequent 50-minute
bus shuttle or equivalent car journey, and there are a few IT
companies there.
Also, I would have to disagree with the advice to look at job sites...
I went through that route and got a lot of spam from recruiters
advertising job in London but none in Sheffield! Just approach the
companies direct, better results.
