[Sheflug] Login Screen

When I type startx it automatically loads the default window manager that I chose when installing the distro. One of my friends is running the same distro and installed it exactly the same way but he gets a login screen when he types startx.

Just a brief rant... :-)
X-Mailer: Microsoft Outlook Express 5.00.2615.200
X-Listar-MIME-Select: Message contained multiple alternative formats;
text/plain format chosen while RTF or HTML was omitted.
Could you turn on wrapping and post plain text only please?
</rant>
OK - I think you'll need to add a line to your X init file, to start a
login program, something along the lines of xdm or gdm - depending
which one you have installed/prefer.
Erm, as far as exactly which file...not sure...had a quick hunt
through /usr/lib/X11 and /etc/X11, but I can't find the script I'm
after. :-(
I'm running a RH box, it's possible the Slack system is different, anyways..
Have a look through the startx script and see if there is anything
mentioned there.
Cheers.
Baz.
