What are the permissions on the cdrom device?
(20:01:39)(richlowe)($)-> ls -l /dev/ide/host0/bus1/target0/lun0/cd
brw-rw-rw- 1 root root 22, 0 Jan 1 1970 /dev/ide/host0/bus1/target0/lun0/cd
(using devfs)
I cant think where the "cdrom: open failed" is coming from, unless you
dont have read access to the device, but I dont think thats it.
and the other, slightly more obvious point, there is a disk in the drive
right? although that shouldnt cause the "cdrom: open failed" part.
