I think amaya, and maybe a very early mozilla are on the 2.2r0 cds.

apt-get install task-gnome-desktop task-gnome-apps task-gnome-games \
task-gnome net

I'm not sure if that will install gdm or not.
but apt-get install gdm if not. (dont know if that will enable it by
default or not, I just use xdm myself).

Either dont use Ximian GNOME, or wait for Ximian to fix it :)

Theres no denying that theres more things you need to do to a debian
install just after its installed, to get it set up how you like.
But after that, maintaining the system is easy :)

apt-get install <packagename>

if you're not sure what a package is called, use "apt-cache search <whatever>"

Remeber to apt-get update before you apt-get upgrade, or apt-get dist-upgrade
and if you get 404's when installing individual packages with apt.

Running sid and downloading everything.

I've heard about more problems in woody, than I have in sid.
Not sure if its just that more people use woody though.
(and it has to be said, that the things that do go wrong with sid, tend
to be fairly important, glibc, dpkg et al.) :)

So I'm using sid, and upgrading every so often, when it seems like
theres nothing I use that isnt working :)
