I just noticed (where were my eyes before?) - there's also a 10baseT
connector on that card... But to use that one I would need a hub... In
fact, yesterday I borrowed from the University 2 NE2000 cards, plugged
them into the 2 boxes, my 'old' one went fine, whereas Compaq just refused
to boot... Playing with jumpers I only was able to make it spit out a
message smth. like "misconfigured ISA PnP card, run system configuration
program" and it still wouldn't boot. So, I assume, before playing with
jumpers settings were ok, but it just failed running the setup programme -
it is stored on HD on these Compaqs, and was certainly erased... Yes, I
can (and will) download it from their site, create a small DOS partition
on the disk (it is >2M), put it there, run (without the network card), but
how do I set it up to recognise (allow) the card, if with it it doesn't
even boot (from diskette or whatever)?...
