[Sheflug] SuSE 7.1 on Dell i4000

Hi

Has anyone had experience of setting up a dell i4000 with SuSE 7.1.

After muchfun (there is a problem with the minimal setup and yast 2 which
leaves the curser flashing in the top corner until you switch consoles) I
managed to get the system booting and I think all the h/w recognised. The
only problem I have is with the screen dimming.

If you let it blank the lcd (I think the lcd actually goes into standby) it
will come back up a lot dimmer when power is restored, this happens
progressivly until it is unreadable. I think this only happens at the shell
prompt, although it may happen, but not as noticable under X. Has anyone
else found this and do you have any solutions.

Cheers

Alastair

PS this is a dual boot setup and it does not appear to happen at all under
Win ME
