Re: [Sheflug] CRC errors
Hello all,
this isn't so much a solution as an anecdote. I'm good at them...
I just received this stuff about problems, and I thought I'd chip in. I
use on old-ish TMC mobo with a VIA chipset w/ a k6-2/450. I have:
hda - Quantum Fireball LCT 15Gb
hdb - Iomega ATAPI ZIP
hdc - LG 32x8x4x CDRW
hdd - MKE (panasonic) 24x CDROM
I just finished doing a disk to disk copy with cdrecord/xcdroast, at 24x
read, 8x write, while simultaneously browsing with Mozilla 0.91, reading
mail, and listening to an MP3. Now, my machine isn't the highest specced
here, but it does the job admirably (and I'd like to see ANY winblows
machine which can copy a cd and do anything else at the same time!)
I long for the days when stuff was sold on how reliable it was, not how
fast (case in point... entire range of Nvidia cards)
Just my (hazy eyed, nostalgic, sleeeeepy) 2p
Craig
