[Sheflug] Webcam Woes

Hi All,

As preparation for a more intelligent project than staring at a
stupid LED toy in Access Space I'm using Camstream to implement a
webcam on a Mandrake 8.0 box. It works fine for about 2 hours, then I
get some kind of nonspecific KDE hang. I've tried launching under
Gnome or Sawfish to solve the problem, but the errors still keep
hanging the stream. There's just a checkbox that says "Error", with
an OK button. Press "OK" and the stream resumes! Any suggestions for
bugfixes, alternative s/w or solutions?

Camera: Kensington VGA / USB
H/W: Compaq P166 Deskpro
Method: FTP JPG image to server every 45 seconds.
Stream: (now hung) http://access.lowtech.org/webcam/

Thanks in advance for your help,

James
