Let somebody correct me if I am wrng - I would rather put (both) hard
disks on IDE-1 and CD-ROM & CDR on IDE-2. On one hand, it might (?) reduce
CD-ROM -> CDR copying performance, but OTOH, the hds should feel
themselves better that way, I think. Also, what does hdparm -vit /dev/hdx 
say (for x=[abcd])?
