[Sheflug] Smart Card Reader

Dear All

Can anyone help me with this one ?

I've got hold of a smart media card reader so that I can transfer 
pictures from my Olympus digital camera to my PC.  We know that these 
work very well.  I've talked to several other people who use them 
without problem.

I've got the parallel port version of Image Mate.....

I'm trying to work out how to tell Gphoto which port to download from 
?  I've tried /dev/lp0 and /dev/lp1.  All that happens is that Gphoto 
and the keyboard lock up.  I have to reboot the machine to use the 
keyboard again.  Other thing is.. when I do select /dev/lp0 under 
Gphoto it asks me to check permissions and to look at the manual.  
When I try to look at the manual Gphoto peels of the screen.  Also 
get    "error - failed to open /dev/lp0".

Can anyone make any suggestions ?
