Sorry I didn't reply to this earlier, but I've had my e=mail system down
while experimenting with firewalls and proxy servers.
For information on the performance of local schools you can get official
statistics from the DFES at
http://www.dfes.gov.uk/statistics/DB/PER/index.html

For Secondary schools (11-16) go to this address:

Follow the link for LEA's by region -> Yorkshire and Humberside ->
Sheffield

This is not the place to debate the merits of league tables for schools,
but they will give you a starting point.
