Re: [Sheflug] quake 3 / mesa / open gl / nvidia geforce 2

THANKS!!
hadnt seen that actually, have just read through, and although i didnt
follow it as i already had the packages etc, i did get the gist of how
the 3d bit works. afer rummaging around i found that the nvidia
drivers did exist on my system but unfortunatly weren't the main
GLlib... they was a symbollic link in xf86 thing for LibGL.so that
pointed to mesa (a 1mb ish file), and another called LibGL.so.1 that
pointed to the Nvidia Library. So simple matter of deleting the mesa
one and linking nvidia instead! yay!

am happy now, got quakeIII running, albeit very slowly and no nearly
as good as windows, but have read the articles on this etc...
hopefully situation will improve soon and the performance of GL in
linux might ven be better than windows. maybe if NVidia made their
drivers open source? psch, like *that* would happen...

Anyhew, thanks dude!!
