[Sheflug] ReiserFS vs. Ext3fs ... :-)

It's another one of those "whatever works for you" sort of questions,
I guess.
ReiserFS seems to be getting a fair few updates through the normal
kernel upgrades, which worries some people, but I've certainly had no
problems.
Ext3 is certainly a less well used system - that should change with
Roswell/RH7.2 coming out shortly.
Everything looks good, it'll be interesting to see if any one takes a
serious lead in "market share".
If ext3 can keep things together the whole no-formatting approach does
sound rather tasty.

But you've got backups just in case things go wrong haven't you? :-)
I tend to do a fresh install of Redhat at each release, and using the
unoffical ReiserFS boot disk is a breeze.
I'm not sure if Roswell/RH7.2 is going to have Reiser as an install
time option, or if it's just going to be Ext2 and Ext3.
To be honest, it all depends on how much effort it takes...the first
time I moved from ext2 to ReiserFS was a nightmare - fortunately I've
got two big disks to shuffle data between.
The rest of my machines (mostly Debian Potato) are all ext2 - too much
hassle to even think about it.

EMacs :-)
