As I'm a virtual non-programmer, this approach is a non-starter. The free GCC
tools for RISCOS are not newbie-friendly, and I certainly won't be
forking-out a hundred quid or-so for the 'official' C/C++ suite. :-(
Actually, I did a course in C-programming a few years back, and always meant
to take it further, but this good intention fell by the wayside due to the
lack of (free) development tools for RISCOS (apart from BASIC!!).
Maybe I'll take-up the challenge again with the Linux tools.
Compiling from source-code seems a popular activity within the Linux world,
but the thought always terrifies me (especially when the word 'kernel' is
involved too!).
How/where did others learn to write/compile source?
