Thanks for the offer.  My colleague is running VMWare (admittedly not 
free software) and this is what I intend to do as well as I am 
thoroughly fed up with the dual boot concept.  More on this in a later 
message.

In the US there is a MacDonald's "University" isn't there.  Things are 
different there, and I suppose there is no law against using US English 
on international web sites.  My feeling is that we should use the word 
for universities as institutions with at least some   claim to support 
scholarship/education/research in a wide range of topics.
