[Sheflug] muLinux
Dear All,
I have muLinux installed on a machine that is to be a printer server. I even
have it successfully working as a printer server (no mean feat for me!) for
windows boxes using smbd.
However, I can't set a root password. Every attempt ends with a failure
message about MSDOS timing - and asks for an attempt later. Typing 'root' at
the login prompt allows immediate access - with no password.
Although when in situ (in a primary school) the box won't have a keyboard,
mouse or screen attached, the telnet server is running so that maintenance
can be performed - and that leaves me feeling rather venerable!
Has anyone any experience of muLinux? Or can anyone suggest a better
solution (has to fit on a 486 with 16MB RAM and 500 MB hard drive).
Happy New Year everyone,
Cheers,
Alistair
