I was saddened to see Mono go MIT - I think it's possibily too important, but then, there is dotGnu as a backup plan I suppose. He does make some good points which most people wouldn't agree with - NT's security model, the design of the .NET architecture - but perhaps some of the moves they are making are more influenced by the need for Ximian to make money than Free software motives.
