The latter information was informative yes I aggree. It wasn't really
offensive I just wasn't expecting comments like that when this is my first
attempt at networking. I knew about TCP/IP networks but I've never needed to
set one up before, that's why I asked the question. I thought that any
computer on a 192.168.0.0 network could see any other, I didn't realise that
the firewall had to be set to 192.168.0.1 (or .254). I asked richard why this
was because I didn't see how it would solve the problem I had. I havn't, as
yet, tried out the laptop on the network. I'm currently configuring apache
for the internal network.
