[Sheflug] Boot Problem: LILO or BIOS?

Hi All,

I've just been installing a DELL Dimension XPS 400 to act as a
webserver. I've put in two SCSI hard disks and formatted them thus:

/dev/sda5 / ext2
/dev/sda6 swap
/dev/sda7 /usr ext2

I've used ext2 because I don't quite trust ext3 yet - but I may tune2fs
and get ext3 running once I feel that everything else is working.

But anyway, here's the interesting bit:

/dev/sda2 RAID1 md0	/var ext2
/dev/sda3 RAID1 md1	/home ext2
/dev/sdb2 RAID1 md0	/var ext2
/dev/sdb3 RAID1 md1	/home ext2

That's not the problem, anyway - I just thought I'd run this by you to
see whether there's a better way to set up a RAID array.

Here's the problem: I reboot and simply get the message "Operating
System Not Found". I guess that the machine is expecting to boot off an
IDE disk. There is a jumper on the main board marked "SCSI h/d" so I
closed it and tried again, but with the same disappointing result.

Do you think that this is a LILO issue, a hardware issue, a BIOS issue,
or what? Any suggestions?

Cheers,

James
