I won't mention your non-html compliant tags then :-)
Seriously, though, HTML coding isn't necessarily all that easy. In fact,
sometimes it's damned tough. Coding to "standards" is all very well, but
often the standards support is lacking. Not just in proprietary
browsers, but in all of them.
Basically, the web is a crock, and to code to ivory-tower standards is
probably no worse than to code to defacto standards. Of course, the real
difference here is that one is an open, published standard, and the
other isn't...
