The usual thing with these is that you hire a room and put some
computers into it. We've already got a low cost room.

We have tried at one time or another to get local colleges to help
with our LUG. One of the previous incarnations of the local LUG was
run by a local Sheffield College administrator. But, he had to give
up because his wife told him she didn't want Linux anywhere near her.
So, we could try but we've not had a positive reaction from local
colleges. I'm being polite because I don't want to hurt anyones
feelings. I did spend a whole two year period trying to get
Sheffield College to understand that we needed to take Linux
seriously. What did I get for that ? At least two years on social
security payments and a lot of dirty comments from my own mother
about Sheffield Council.

Just to finish off I might say that I've always noticed that
educational and union people generally seem to give out the above
argument over the past twenty years. If in fact anyone had listened
to me two years ago I might have been more positive in my own
attitude at this point in time. Lack of local co-operation has led
to a lot of people being very fed up to the back teeth with helpful
suggestions

Hope I'm not being too abrasive in your direction.
