[Sheflug] USB or lsd?
I just installed a cheap'n'cheerful 2-port USB card in my pc (I know,
slightly Luddite tendancies with these new-fangled technologies). My
Mandrake 9 system went totally ape on boot - many, many instances of
"Detecting USB interface....OK" terminating with the system apparrently
running out of resources!
I booted the installation/rescue cd & had a look at /etc/init.d/usb, and
found a syntax error reported on line 37 - now when I look at the file,
it appears to have been at least partly overwritten by some registry
junk from Wine. I dunno what's going on but there's something rotten in
the state of Denmark......
Has anyone got any similar tales of woe with Mandrake 9 or is it me?
If anyone would be so kind as to mail me a good copy of the usb init
file I'd be most grateful - I don't want to go furtling round
reinstalling low-level bits of the system unless forced.
Cheers,
Paul.
