[Sheflug] gnome - nis - debian problem
Hi,
I have a working NIS /NFS server (i believe) on suse 7.3 and a client running
debian woody on sparc
The odd thing is that - though i can log on with kde, when i try to run gnome
the gnome loader splash screen hangs at either loading the gnome windowmanager
or loading mouse.
In my home directory i get a .gnome-errors
which contains
GLib-WARNING **: getpwuid_r(): failed due to: No such user 500.
SESSION_MANAGER=local/iskra:/tmp/.ICE-unix/1120
Gdk-WARNING **: locale not supported by C library
GLib-WARNING **: getpwuid_r(): failed due to: No such user 500.
rep: function returned both exception and value, or neither!
GLib-WARNING **: getpwuid_r(): failed due to: No such user 500.
Any of this make any sense? Is it a gnome / nis server or nis client issue?
