Just to help out a little on this, the event has been widely publicised 
through the National Science Week programme & has already been the subject of 
a number of media reports locally. Getting the Linux message across as part 
of Science Week would have been very useful.

It's a real shame it was cancelled, but I guess someone thought that a senior 
guy from NASA might just be a possible target & this is perhaps 
understandable in the circumstances. I strongly suspect this isn't a personal 
decision, but if so one that has not been taken lightly. Let's just hope 
there was nothing to worry about in the end.

The IEE in Sheffield had agreed to meet the costs of staging the event & we 
hope now to reschedule this later for in the year.
