You don't, really - setup BIND to allow dynamic updates to your zone, and
get DHCP (v3 or better? can't remember) to register clients when it
allocates them. Plays nicely together, but recent version recommended.

djb's tools are very rarely better. He ignores standards, puts things in
bizarre places on the filesystem and doesn't allow people to
redistribute in a sensible fashion. The security claims of his software are
not completely accurate IIRC, and he has a bizarre cult of users unlike
any other.
People like to welch on BIND a lot, but it's not as bad as people make out.
It's about the only DNS server which adheres to standards (djb's mockery of
zone transfer systems is typically byzantine) and isn't quite the security
risk people make out it is.
