RE: [Sheflug] Printing on a Novell Printer

Hi Chris,

thanks for the reply.

I think this is where the problem lies. I tried the command nprint, and
this is the response I got.

[nicola@bubby pictures]$ nprint -C -S yateholme.shef.ac.uk -U li1njr -q
INF_LJ_HP2500C game.log
Logging into YATEHOLME.SHEF.AC.UK as LI1NJR
Password:
nprint: Connection timed out when initializing connection

I can definitely access the server as it's also my mail server.

My laptop is registered with the University network (I have an IP
address which is bound to my MAC address) and I'm currently attached to
this network.

I've contacted the University Computing Services who say that they don't
support Linux and to contact sheflug, which I'm now doing :-) Could the
problem be at their end? I download all my mail from this server onto my
laptop either directly (when I'm in Sheffield) or through the gateway
(when I'm at home) and have never had any problems. I can also ping it.
What is weird is the fact that before, I could at least submit a job
even though I couldn't print anything but blank pages. Now I can't even
do that.

Hope this is more information.

Cheers,

Nicola.
