It may be that the university don't use Novell print queues to print to.
IIRC a HP printer with Jet direct card can be set up to be a print server
that hosts the queue instead of a node that just gets its jobs from a
Netware print queue.  Not sure how you'd go about setting up tp print to
that.  Do you have the IP address for the printer?  Next step would be to
find more information about how the printers are set up on the network.
They should be able to provide you with that information.
