[Sheflug] Laptops and books need info

Hi I have been asked to setup a computer in foreign clime's as favour for the 
ticket. I have been asked to get a used laptop but don't anywhere or places i 
can trust seen good deals on ebay but wary of them need some advice i have 
been looking for weeks now. 
Also I have  been I out using computers for while for anything serious for 
several years 
now and I would like to get back into learning how  to use them properly. 
especially bash  and networking /security but, for some reason i can't get my 
head around documents on the web as there alway seem to be missing infomation 
i need or i don't understand what they are saying. Also would like to find a 
good book on C++ as only programming i ever did was pascal got stuck on the 
arrays and never got any further  with it.
