As I said I can't remember the limits on FAT32 but I know that I have
had 20GB partitions readable in Linux before that were FAT32. Nowadays I
tend to use an old PC with a couple of 80GB hard drives in it as a Samba
file server/firewall/email/web server. Then there is my desktop, laptop
and play server.
Rarely go into Windows anymore, but when I do I share everything over
Samba, and share the same directories over NFS for all my Linux clients.
It works really well and I use ext3 partitions just about exclusively. I
would be shocked if you couldn't get a 10 - 20 GB partition sorted under
FAT32 though, and then read/write to it from Linux - I am sure I have
done that in the past.
