Rubbish, it gets quoting wrong for a start. 

HTML will flow the text to whatever particular window size you have,
which is good for big screens like mine. I can also sensibly use
non-mono-spaced fonts too (which is easier on the eyes).

Why unlikely? Same platform. It's not that hard to call code in a
library. mplayer has been doing this for many years now, as has Wine.
