Re: [Sheflug] Organisation of Sheflug

Perhaps we should total up all the effort that Richard does for the group, his own work and his financial outlays. Relate this, to say a man and wife situation and you often find the marriage breaks down. Hence the falling out between some the members of the list. Could it be, that Richard has being doing so much that he is under a lot of stress and lashes out at times before he has had time to think and then doesn't want to backtrack for the sake of losing credibility of his previous posts. I have many people at work who are under pressure due to new legislation and rules which are being altered all the time. They often lash-out but are in the main good workers. I have to use a lot of mental reasoning with them at times but it all works out at the end.
Richard has written complaining about posts I have sent to the list (about three times, twice on the list and once to me directly). On this occassion I wrote back to him personally, explained that I had made errors due to pressures I was under (what they were in brief) and that I had chosen the wrong time of day to send my post, i.e. while I was under those pressures. In return I received another personal email back which was very polite, curtious and with a little friendly humor attached to my situation. With James helping out, a lot of the pressure that Richard is under should diminish, e.g. Richard under pressure is probably falling into the trap of the proverbal laymans saying, "I can't be ars*d with that, or him etc".
We have a manager at work who reacts nastily to people but by god, he does work and gets results. No suggestion there about getting rid of him.
Sorry for the ramblings of my mind everyone.

I think you have summed things up very nicely there. As a married man and a IT manager I can see your point exactly :-)
Lets hope we can put this situation to rest without leaving too many bad feelings and get on with the interesting Linux stuff that we all want to talk about.

Regards

James
