[Sheflug] Squid Cache Grief!
Hello All,
Recently I've been having LAN trouble which I suspect is related to the
operation of our transparent cacheing proxy. Unfortuantely, I don't know
how to fine tune its opeartion. Do you?
I can't see http://ukreg.com through our firewall (Smoothwall 2.0
Express with all the patches). I believe this is because some of the
http returns are generated by .exe files, and Squid rejects returns from
.exe's.
I get this sort of error message...
The following error was encountered: * Invalid Response
Generated Wed, 09 Mar 2005 14:31:05 GMT by smoothwall (squid/2.5.STABLE7)
I'm fairly sure that this problem is directly related to Squid, not to
anything else - if I turn Squid off I have no problems. But I like
having a cacheing proxy!
Please, do any of you have an idea whether it's possible to fine tune
how Squid works? I've looked at the config files, but they don't seem to
give me the option to not reject .exe http returns. I'd also like to
fine tune how Squid caches .css files - recently several Access Space
users have been working on .css design, and they have difficulty viewing
the new stylesheets they upload, because Squid insists on showing them
the old versions.
Thanks,
James
