Sorry, that's donkey do, PHP is not at all similar to VB. The language
is completely different, VB under ASP is completely different. They're
not at all implemented in any similar way.
If you're trying to say PHP has a similar learning curve, that's perhaps
true. That's more the fault of mod_perl being particularly baroque to
setup and use.

No, because that's not a relevant number. The netcraft number is "number
of Apache servers with mod_perl loaded". The interesting number is
"number of Apache servers with mod_perl loaded, setup, available to use
and in use by hosting companies" - which is not what netcraft tells you.
Most hosting companies will not allow you to use mod_perl.
http://perl.apache.org/help/isps.html lists four such; one of which is a
virtual server solution and hence a non-answer.
