[Sheflug] Internet Radio (Jono Bacon) / Open Source for Education Conference

Those of you who had intended to come to the Internet Radio talk by Jono Bacon 
will be delighted to know that this has now been rearranged for Wednesday 15 
June at the Holiday Inn (Royal Victoria) in Sheffield. This is billed as the 
IEE John Freeman Memorial Lecture. John was a past chairman of the IEE 
Sheffield Centre and a strong supporter of IEE younger members' activities.

Between 20th and 24th June Sheffield will host a major international 
e-learning technology conference called Alt-i-Lab. To coincide with this 
event, on Friday 24th June the d-SY FLOSS Special Interest Group have 
organised a panel of speakers from the UK, USA and Europe to address wider 
issues of the use of Open Source Software in Education, including the 
recently published BECTa report. This full day event called Open Source For 
Education will be held in the Holiday Inn (Royal Victoria) Sheffield - the 
same venue as Alt-i-lab.

Registration for the 15th and 24th June events is free and refreshments will 
be provided.

Over the next few weeks we will be starting to put together a programme of 
FLOSS related events for the period September through June next year. This 
will include both short evening talks in addition to half / full day 
workshops & conferences. If you have any burning topics which you would like
