I would be annoyed at losing either my email or my domain name if I was 
trusting someone to supply them to me,

I would suggest looking for the Professional Contractor's Group or 
Federation of Small Businesses.  I think you get a fair bit of advice 
for the price of membership and they can advise on insurance cover.
